It has been some time since my last post.  In re-opening my Facebook account, I began to posting there there rather than this blog.  In the future, I will try to blog-post here at least once per week.

It is raining and I have a hangover.  Not a terribly awful one, just enough to know that I had one too many last night.  Heck, I even re-joined FaceBook.  Enough weirdly connected events happened to me yesterday that I might just stay home all day today, but I guess not.  I am always too willing to tempt the fates.

Odd Problem

For some reason, I can send SMS messages (text) but do not receive them.  I searched the internet for someone having a similar problem in the hope that it had been resolved in a way that I could use to repair my problem.  No such luck.  It seems that the problem is hard to fix.

I have tried a number or remedies that have not resolved the trouble and I am now waiting for my cellular service provider to correct it.

Hard Drive Magnets

I have a number of old hard drives that I will never use and so I am taking them apart to extract the magnets that they contain.  These are strong rare-earth magnets.  I am not certain what use I will have for them  Right now, the magnets from two hard drives are stuck on the refrigerator.  Here is a picture:

Blog Zapped

I am starting my blog over.  Last week, after a problem surfaced in regards to posting to my blog, I deleted my entire Google account.  After I got over my mad, I had it restored by Google folk but the blog "NewIberian" was not restored.

I do have an off-line backup but as I wrote in a previous post, backups are useless if they cannot be used to restore.  Sure, I could restore from the backup but it would involve a lot of work that I am not prepared to do.

As for the problem that arose, it is still there and will not allow me to post as I had before.  However, after poking around I tried using a secure connection and it all worked as far as being able to create a post.

I had not been using a secure connection as my logins to post had little chance of being intercepted due to other security procedures that I was using.  I guess that another layer of security will not do any harm and I should have been using HTTPS as a matter of course.
